A message from OKPromise went out to enrolled students in the eighth through 11th grades on Friday evening. Unfortunately the message was written for high school seniors, and we caused some confusion for our younger students. We will be sending out the correct message Monday evening which is just a reminder about the requirements of the program. The new message is below. If you haven't already, you may be getting some inquiries from your students, and we wanted you to be aware.

Our apologies to you and your students.

Email:
Hi,

You recently received a message from Oklahoma's Promise that was intended for high school seniors and mistakenly sent to eighth through 11th grade OKPromise enrolled students. The message told you to file the FAFSA, but it is too early now and you won't need to do that until you are a senior. We apologize for the confusion. The following is the correct message.

Don't forget that there are two GPA requirements you must meet-a 2.50 for all courses you take AND a 2.50 in the 17 specific courses required to receive the Oklahoma's Promise scholarship.

You can find more information at www.okhighered.org/okpromise/hs-students.shtml<http://www.okhighered.org/okpromise/hs-students.shtml> or email okpromise at osrhe.edu<mailto:okpromise at osrhe.edu?subject=High%20School%20Student%20September%20Reminder> with any questions and updates to your contact information.

Check with your school counselor to make sure you are taking the right classes and staying on track.
