The Importance of Institutional Financial Stability for NC-SARA: Heightened Cash Monitoring 101
The U.S. Department of Education (USDE) may place an institution on Heightened Cash Monitoring (HCM) to closely monitor its cash management. This means the institution is subject to greater financial oversight than other institutions participating in federal aid programs. The USDE’s HCM List comes out quarterly, naming the institutions that have various financial concerns such as accreditation problems or missing audits, as well as institutions that exhibit financial difficulties. This webinar gives an in-depth review of HCM:

  *   What is the HCM list?
  *   What is the difference between HCM1 and HCM2?
  *   How do you read a HCM report?
  *   What actions should a state take based on HCM?
In addition, NC-SARA staff will review the Federal Financial Responsibility Composite Scores & Heightened Cash Monitoring (HCM) Process Document. This webinar will be recorded.
