Written by Ruthann Friedman and released in 1967, the song reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 that year. This followed The Association's first No 1. Hit "Cherish," recorded in 1966. Other bands recorded this song, like Gary Lewis and the Playboys, but none like The Association. Barry Manilow recorded it in 2006 with The Association on his album "The Greatest Songs of the Sixties." Enjoy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GHpwzpaFI4g Listen for it on the chimes again today at noon and 3. Thanks for playing the Friday Mystery Song on the Chimes Contest. -USAO Media and Community Relations -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:
