[USAO-Robertson] Bicycle theft

Campus Community,

There has been an incident of a bicycle theft at Lawson.  Please remember to always make sure your bike is locked while on campus. Be aware that cable locks are easily defeated. Campus Security strongly recommends utilizing a metal U-shaped lock to secure your bicycle on campus.

Here are some tips about preventing and dealing with bike theft:


*         Lock your bike properly, so that a thief cannot simply take the bike and leave you with a locked back wheel.   When you lock your bike, you want to make sure that all of the elements are protected. This includes your frame and both tires.

*         Register your bike with Student Services.  Registration gives your bike an identity and it also provides proof that your bike actually belongs to you.

*         Take a photo of your bike.
