[USAO-Robertson] Health and Safety-Next Week

[USAO Housing]

Hello Drovers!
 
Housing will be conducting Health and Safety next week Monday through Friday, April 14 – 18. This is a week-long routine check to ensure residential spaces are kept clean and safe. They will be checking for the following Health and Safety concerns:

  *   Housing violations

  *   Maintenance issues

  *   Front doors are properly secured and locked

  *   Clear path to all doorways

  *   Excessive trash

  *   Basic cleanliness of all areas
 
If you have an ESA, please make sure the animal has been placed in a cage or kennel.
-If an unpermitted animal is found you will be fined.
 
If the RA’s go through and they discover that your front door is left unlocked, that may count against your entire apartment on Health and Safety.
 
Extension Cords: 

  *   Extension cords are permitted to use in rooms but they must be UL Certified. 

  *   Extension cords must not be used in succession, or in conjunction with, power strips. Extension cords shall not be used as a substitute for permanent wiring.

  *   Space heaters, window unit/portable air conditioners, ceiling fans, and similar items not issued by the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma are not permitted. Students violating this policy are subject to fines and /or disciplinary action. 
 
Decorative Lights: 

  *   Only LED decorative electric lights are permitted or non-LED battery powered. 

  *   Decorative light sets should not be anchored/taped or allowed to touch metal items such as window or door frames. 

  *   Cords may not be run through doorways, under doors, or across hallways. 
-Do NOT hang anything from the ceiling, it is a fire hazard.
