[COPLAC-IR] COPLAC Annual Data Profile...

I think those are good questions to ask, Richard.

I would suggest we not scrap the current instrument but continue to mold it. I think some good work was done recently in terms of ditching questions that were interpreted and answered differently by each reporter, resulting in meaningless numbers.

I would suggest we move forward by thinking of ways to move it toward the liberal arts, the foundation of COPLAC. Maybe we could start with NSSE data, although that could be redundant since we already have the consortium. But we could think of other measures that are connected with liberal arts moreso than other college missions.

Any thoughts?

Colleagues:

I take it we're doing the survey the same way we always have.......

I'm a little concerned about the survey being:

- Out-dated (some of the fields date back to 2009)

- Inconsistent with standard reports (IPEDS, CDS)

Are we even asking the right questions??

Has COPLAC ever thought about presenting the results in a format other than a clunky data book.

Hello all,

Please find attached a blank copy of the annual data profile for your institution. It would be greatly appreciated if you would send your completed portion to me no later than May 18, 2012. That will give me a couple of weeks to compile the report and submit to Bill Spellman by May 31st to send off to be printed for his Board. And if you would, please replace the word "blank" in the name of the file with your school's name; that would help greatly.

Sorry for any duplicate emails. I am trying to make sure to reach every school. If you have any questions, please let me know?

Lynn
