This one is a biggie for us:

5. What has been the primary source of your academic advising during the current academic year? (Choose only one.)
O My officially assigned advisor in an academic department
O An advisor in the Academic Advisement Center
O An instructor or staff member not assigned as my advisor
O Friends or family
O Institution publications and/or Institution web site
O Other (please specify)__________________

For this one, we focus on the change in our results over the years. We had some big improvements in advising, and thankfully we've seen a shift in responding from primarily friend/family to official advisor & Acad. Advisement Center.

The questions have not changed dramatically since before 2010 at least.

I've volunteered as NSSE consortium coordinator. If I end up doing the job I hope I won't be worked to death with changes! But if changes are desired, we should use this listserv to discuss.

Keene State will participate this year.

I've been wondering about the consortium questions. Someone asked about them at the conference in June, but we didn't have time to address that while we were all together. Can anyone tell me how you use the results of those questions at your own institution? I've only been at KSC for 2 years, so I don't know the history of the questions.

Cathy

Hi everyone,

Is anyone coordinating the COPLAC NSSE consortium? I hope everyone, or almost everyone, will participate. Eastern is in, no question.

Dear Brian:

We are pleased to announce that NSSE system registration is open for the spring 2014 administration. You are currently listed as the System Coordinator for: Connecticut State Universities. If your system plans to participate in NSSE 2014, please register the system by September 15, 2013 using the following link:

https://surveytest.indiana.edu/nsse/registration/consortium/2014/

During registration, you will designate eligible institutions within your system. When the institutions you designate register for NSSE, they will be eligible to join your system for the NSSE administration. As a reminder, systems may append additional questions to the end of the survey for a fee. Also, because system reports<http://nsse.iub.edu/pdf/NSSEville%20System%20Report.pdf> identify individual institution results, system coordinators must obtain data sharing agreements from member institutions. I will be in touch this fall to assist with this process.

For additional information about system participation see our Web site<http://nsse.iub.edu/html/systems.cfm>. Remaining questions can be addressed by sending an email to consorti at indiana.edu<mailto:consorti at indiana.edu?subject=RE:%20NSSE%202013%20System%20Registration> or by calling 812-856-5824.

I look forward to working with you on another successful NSSE administration.

Sincerely,

Jennifer Brooks

NSSE Project Services & Consortium Manager
