[COPLAC-IR] FW: COPLAC list (3).xls

Hi all,

I feel like I should just let this issue 'be' and move on.....but I do have another piece of info about our NSSE comparison group.  I noticed that NSSE has a total of 21 COPLAC schools doing NSSE this year (2014), but people are creating a COPLAC comparison group with a total of 24 schools.  How can this be?  Read Jennifer's explanation below, the June 27 email in particular.

Hi Brian,

OK to share my message with others with one caveat. I just learned this morning that beginning this year we will also begin providing multi-year consortium and system reports when possible. In order to happen, a consortium or system will have to participate in two consecutive years and use the identical questions each year. So the COPLAC consortium report we provide you will still only include 2014 institutions, but it could be possible to receive a multi-year report in the future if there is consecutive year participation.

Hi Brian,

New College of Florida, Shepherd University and Southern Utah did not participate in NSSE 2014. For comparison groups for the core NSSE survey, however, current participants could choose from both 2013 and 2014 participants so they could be included in core survey comparison groups. Thus, for the core survey, comparison group 1-3 can have more than the 21 institutions that participated in 2014.

However, when we are talking about reports for the consortium itself, we cannot pull from multiple years (because consortium questions can and do change from year to year, while the core survey does not). So for the consortium report we send you, only 21 institutions are available.

Hi Jennifer,

Thanks for checking with me.  I did email a few folks who were not in the consortium as of Oct 2, 2013 to make sure we have the right status for them.

A couple of people seem to have 24 schools on their list, whereas the file you just sent has only 21.  New College of Florida, Shepherd University, and Southern Utah are on one person's list but indicated as not doing NSSE 14 in that file you have.  Can you have a look at my attachment.

Hi Brian,

I just want to confirm the list of COPLAC institutions. The attached document lists every campus that was deemed eligible to participate in the COPLAC consortium. Those highlighted in yellow indicate they participated in NSSE but not in the consortium. These are the institutions that will be added to the aggregate report.

Can you please confirm accuracy?
