[Counselors] OKPromise and NCAA

[OSRHE EPAS PK-12 Counselor Discussion Board]

Question:  Does the rule about pass/fail for OK Promise apply to any course, such as electives?  We were considering making our electives pass/fail so that we could keep grade inflation in check, but don't want to hurt our students in any way?

Answer from OK Promise:  If the course is to be used in the OKPromise core curriculum (17-units), then it will be affected by the pass/fail grade, it will be a "D".
If it is not being used in the 17-unit OKPromise core, it will not affect the student's core GPA. We are really only concerned about the courses that count in the 17-units.
