At Soper High School, we allow students to do a project after they have attempted the EOI test at least twice. We do not have an age or grade criteria. I encourage our students to get the projects completed before their senior year to avoid the stress of maybe not graduating. I had a sophomore complete an Algebra I project last year after she failed the exam twice. We have done Algebra I, Geometry, Biology I, and English III so far. The student must make arrangements during the day to work on the project in a teacher's classroom and all projects are due by December 1. We have had success with our projects so far. We also require that parents be on board with the student's decision to complete a project.

We have done this but only with Seniors that have attempted tests and we could see that it was not going to be beneficial to keep testing.  We have done History and English II and III and for the first time, this year we are doing Algebra II.

Westville High SchoolWe have an ACE English Remediation class. These are Seniors who need to complete an English III project. We have an ACE Algebra Remediation class for students to complete Algebra I or Geometry projects.Typically, these are Juniors and Seniors. These are semester classes. After they complete their projects, it is a study skills hour for them.  From: counselors-bounces at lists.onenet.net [mailto:counselors-bounces at lists.onenet.net] On Behalf Of OSRHE EPAS PK-12 Counselor Discussion Board

Subject: [Counselors] EOI Projects I was curious how many high schools give their students the opportunity to do an EOI project? If you would please respond with your school name and the EOI project you do, that would be helpful in explaining things to my administration. Also, do you only allow seniors or other grades also?  Thank you for your help!
