Grant Aid Scholarship

Deadline to apply - October 30, 2009

 

STUDENT SUPPORT SERVICES GRANT OPPORTUNITY

As a continuing participant in Student Support Services, you are 
eligible to sign-up for the Grant Aid Scholarship awarded in the fall 
and spring semesters for those students with an unmet need.  Signing up 
does not guarantee you will get the grant.  However, you will not know 
if you qualify unless you apply!

  <>In order to be considered for the SSS grant, you must meet the 
following requirements: <>

            Ø  Be an active Student Support Services Participant, and

Ø  Be receiving a Pell Grant for this 2009-2010 academic year, and

Ø  Have an unmet need of $890 or more (we will check this through the 
financial aid office), and

Ø  Have been involved in SSS activities (tutoring, counseling, 
workshops, cultural trips, campus visits, or transfer trips) during the 
Spring 2009 semester.

Ø  Have GPA of at least 2.0

Ø  Less than 60 accumulated credit hours.  (These are total hours--not 
hours accumulated during participation in SSS.)

Ø  Contact Sue Lovett , Johnston Hall 115. You must come in to the 
office to apply!  McAlester students  will need to meet with me on 
Tuesday,  October  13 , 20, or 27th  at  4:00  till 5:00 p.m.   in the 
lobby of the Wanda Bass  Building.

 

Students who received the grant last semester will not qualify this 
semester.  If you have any questions or are unsure if you qualify, call 
918-465-1823.  Offices are open, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  Remember 
to apply on or before April 30, 2009.
