KANSAS STATE UNIVERSITY
Student Financial  Assistance


Position:    Assistant Director of Student  Financial Assistance, Technology

Position Overview: This position will be  responsible for overseeing daily 
computer support within the Office of Student  Financial Assistance, keep 
current on technology enhancements taking place  across campus and guide the Office 
of Student Financial Assistance in preparing  for technology advancements.  
This position will provide support and  leadership within the data processing 
area of the Office of Student Financial  Assistance as the office migrates to a 
campus wide, integrated student system  (Oracle Corporation's Campus 
Solutions); assist and guide in the development of  reports to support financial 
assistance data analysis requirements.   Additionally, this position will train end 
users, document procedures,  coordinate testing for software upgrades, and 
maintain the web site for Student  Financial Assistance.

Responsibilities:
·     Provide computer hardware and software support to staff.
·     Implement and provide ongoing computer training for office  
applications.
·    Provide direction on the hardware upgrade of  office equipment to 
maintain office productivity.
·    Provide  leadership and vision for continued technical advancements with 
student service  a priority. 
·    Assist in the review and establishment of data  processing procedures as 
they relate to the successful migration to a  campus-wide, integrated 
administrative student system (Campus  Solutions).
·    Develop and maintain procedural documentation on  the financial aid 
system for training of staff and for reference.
·   Assist in the development of reports in support of financial assistance  
through data analysis.
·    Serve as a liaison to Information  Systems Office and Computing and 
Network services to resolve and prepare for  computing updates and issues.
·    Support and enhance the current  ImageNow system for workflow and 
scanning of documents.
·    Assist  in the design of Student Financial Assistance web site providing 
students with  an interactive dynamic experience highlighting K-State.
·    Update  web based financial aid content per Associate Director's request.
·   Guide Enrollment Management staff in the preparation of Chat University  
internet chats.
·    Provide supervision and mentoring to student  technology assistants.

Requirements:  Bachelor's degree in Computer  Science, Management Information 
Systems or related field.  Experience in  customer support and web design 
required, preferably in a university or college  setting.  Knowledge of analyzing 
data and creating reports.  Candidate  should have familiarity with 
relational database structure; experience with  web-based ERP system, preferably in a 
Higher Education setting.  A strong  ability to translate business process into 
technology needs.  Knowledge of  HTML, XML, PHP and JavaScript; experience 
with web editing tools such as  DreamWeaver a plus.  Strong communication skills.
