There are currently two open positions in Financial Aid Services at the
University of Oklahoma, Norman campus.  Both of these are permanent
positions that were created in part due to the implementation of Banner
software for the student system (Recruitment, Admissions, Enrollment,
Academic Records, Financial Aid, Bursar) at the University of Oklahoma.


No, Brad Burnett is not leaving.  As Executive Director of Financial Aid
Services and Scholarships, Financial Aid Services, Scholarships, the
Financial Education and Counseling Center and Enrollment Technology
Services all report to Brad, so the new director will too.      Brad
will be very busy as the Functional Project Lead for the Banner
implementation for the next 30 months.    No, I am not leaving & no, I'm
not applying for this job.    I will be the Financial Aid Functional
Lead for the Banner project for the next 30 months.  Where will I be
after that?  Oh, I'll make myself useful, tidying up, etc.

Financial Aid: Director of Financial Aid Services. The University of
Oklahoma Office of Financial Aid Services is currently seeking a high
energy applicant to fill the position of director. Successful applicant
will be responsible for day-to-day operations and supervision of the
Financial Aid Services. This position coordinates activities between
Admissions and Records, Bursar, Financial Aid office HSC campus and
other areas affecting the delivery of aid to students. 

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: supervision of
Financial Aid Services staff; assisting students and their parents in
resolving financial aid issues; coordinating programs and activities
with other programs and offices outside the financial aid services
office; develop and supervise on-campus informational services; perform
outreach to high schools and other groups concerning financial aid
issues; serve on and chair various university-wide scholarship,
financial aid and enrollment management committees as assigned. The
director will insure that departmental policies and procedures are met
in compliance with federal, state and university laws, rules and
regulations; as well as compliance and knowledge of NCAA and Big 12
rules as they apply to students and staff of the University of Oklahoma.


Experience required: Bachelor's degree with preference on advanced
degree. 18-36 months of financial aid experience, with preference of
five years' experience, or equivalent at the assistant director or
higher levels of responsibility. Excellent verbal and written
communication with proven record of effective supervision of staff.
Demonstrated leadership in a higher education or equivalent setting.
Significant experience in reporting, compliance, budget processes, and
computing systems related to financial aid operations. Banner experience

Position:  Financial Aid Specialist
Salary:  $25,000-$28,000

The University of Oklahoma Office of Financial Aid Services is currently
seeking an applicant to fill a new position of Financial Aid Specialist
in the Loan Processing unit.  Successful applicant will be responsible
for certifying private and federal education loans, reviewing reports,
and resolving loan problems.

The Financial Aid Specialist will utilize extensive knowledge of federal
and state regulations and institutional policies and procedures to
determine eligibility for multiple federal and private loan programs for
undergraduate, graduate, and law students.Additional responsibilities
include reviewing, interpreting, and analyzing complex reports in
compliance with institutional polices and the Department of Education
regulations; utilize complex computer technology to process loan
applications, corrections, changes, and cancellations.

Experience:  Bachelors Degree OR equivalent combination of education/job
related experience. 12 months experience in University financial aid,
accounting or bookkeeping. 
Moderate to high computer proficiency ideal, including application
software, internet use.  Experience with Banner student system a plus.
Excellent oral and written communication skills a must.
