SWASFAA Team Chatter has posted a new item, 'Mid-Level Training Opportunity'

What, April is around the corner!  How did that happen?  Spring break has come and gone and students are already talking about summer plans.  In the Financial Aid world, we've been busy creating student budgets, updating packaging rules, fielding questions from nervous incoming students and their parents...just another "spring break" for Financial Aid professionals!

Keeping up on the ever changing Federal regulations and policies can be a challenge.  With the ever shrinking budgets many of us have faced this and next fiscal year, we are looking for training opportunities which provide the "biggest-bang-for-the-buck."    Mid-Level training, April 26th - April 27th, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Arlington, TX, is the ticket for just that.

Vickie Young, Director of Financial Aid at College of the Ouachitas, Malvern, AR, said, "The training was wonderful and so beneficial.  We learned a great deal.  The learning continued even after the training, a staff member and myself passed all the NASFAA certifications that we were given while training."

Mid-Level Training committee as worked diligently to put together a one-and-a half day workshop which will cover five NASFAA Credentials:

	Cost of Attendance
	Loans
	Packaging
	Professional Judgment
	Satisfactory Academic Progress

$200 is the registration fee, which is such a bargain!  Normally, NASFAA credential testing in $99 per subject.  Five subjects would cost $495. Participates will not have to pay for testing in these five areas as the $200 registration fee covers that.  Detailed information about the training and registration is located on  SWASFAA's home page.  Hotel reservations can be made from the site, too.

Our goal is to keep providing our membership training opportunities throughout the year.  Whether that be in-person, such as the upcoming Mid-Level workshop or webinars, which the first one was presented on 2/29/16, keeping SWASFAA relevant, is my and the Board's goal.  As always, if you have an idea or comment that you'd like to share, please feel free to e-mail me at javaldez at salud.unm.edu .
