[Oasfaa] Updates about Oklahoma's Promise

Two updates related to Oklahoma's Promise:


*       SB 529, which would make significant changes to Oklahoma's Promise, passed the House Appropriations and Budget Subcommittee on Education yesterday by a vote of 9 yes, 1 no.  You can find how each subcommittee member voted on the bill at http://webserver1.lsb.state.ok.us/cf/2017-18%20SUPPORT%20DOCUMENTS/votes/House/SB529_VOTES.HTM.  The bill is expected to be heard in the full House Appropriations & Budget Committee next week.


*       Attached is an invitation/notice about Oklahoma's Promise Day at the State Capitol next Tuesday, April 18 with the schedule of the events targeted at a general audience - the rally at 12:30 p.m. and a reception following the rally at 1:30 p.m.  The reception will feature Dippin' Dots and cupcakes [donated; not paid for with state funds] celebrating the 25th birthday of Oklahoma's Promise.   Some state-system institutions will also be bringing current OKPromise scholarship recipients earlier in the day to meet and have lunch with their legislators.  This is not reflected in this notice for the general audience.
