[Oasfaa] PJ for Job Loss

At OSU, we try to take subjective judgments out of our decision as to whether or not we'll do a professional judgment for an EFC adjustment.  Really, we try to apply that philosophy to all our PJs.  So we've done PJs for EFC adjustments for students and parents who willingly quit their jobs, and also for those who are fired.  We focus on the economic impact those actions have on the student and/or family-how long have they been without the income and what  is the amount of income loss, primarily.

We've been applying this philosophy the best we can for over 15 years.  But as you said, there is no right or wrong.

Just throwing this one out there... as we know with PJs there are no right or wrongs...

Do you differentiate between a student willingly quitting a job and a student being fired?  If yes, would you consider a PJ for a student who admits to just quitting and has no other documentation of extenuating circumstances (ie. health concerns/issues because of the job)?
