	Assistant Director/Counseling & Compliance  - Financial Aid  Job
Description: Provide administrative support and oversight of the daily
operations of the Financial Aid Office. Assist the Director in all areas of
Financial Aid operations.  Essential Job Functions:  Establish policies and
procedures to monitor compliance with regulations.  Provide guidance and
training of all support staff functions.  Packaging to provide equitable
utilization of funds available.  Supervision of Financial Aid Office staff.
Counsel students regarding completion and need analysis of student aid
eligibility.  Administer guidance and training regarding all job functions.
Coordinate aid programs to maximize the potential assistance to OCU students
Ensure equitable utilization of funds available.  Monitor policies and
procedures to ensure compliance with regulations.  Work closely with other
campus offices as needed to effectively support office functions.  Perform a
variety of tasks related to the efficient operation and management of the
Financial Aid Office.  Assume the responsibility of the office functions in
the absence of the Director of Financial Aid.  Attend Public Relation
activities: Open House, Roundtables, Counselor Luncheons, FA Workshops,
Professional Conferences, etc.  Maintain familiarity with Federal, State,
and OCU rules, regulations and procedures regarding the utilization of
funds.  Supervise support staff and work study personnel .  Become
proficient in the Financial data systems, including FOCUS reports.  Assist
with processing of loans, checks and EFT'S during peak periods, if needed.
Establish staffing for front window service during extended hours of
operation.  Other duties as assigned.  Minimum Education Requirement:
Bachelor's Degree. Master's Degree preferred.  Minimum Work Experience: Five
years work experience in Financial Aid with supervisory experience. Special
Skills:  Must possess significant knowledge of all aspects of financial aid
regulations and processing.  Ability to comprehend and analyze complex
regulations to facilitate compliance.  Excellent written and oral
communication skills.  Effective public relations skills.  Proven problem
solving abilities.  Ability to coordinate and schedule a variety of tasks
with emphasis on effective time management.  Ability to efficiently manage
multi-task, high demand office functions.  Demonstrate positive human
relations skills.  Ability to comprehend general financial functions.  Work
Conditions:  Work is primarily indoors, but requires the incumbent to be in
an outdoor environment when traveling between campus buildings or off
campus.  Standard office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., available for
extended hours as needed.  Will be exposed to frequent noise caused by
telephones and office machines.  Physical Requirements:  Must be able to
lift and, carry equipment and supplies weighing up to 40 pounds.  Must be
able to bend, stoop, reach.  Manual dexterity to efficiently operate a
computer keyboard and other business machines.  Near vision sufficient to
read written communications and computer display screens.  Adequate hearing
to communicate effectively in person and by phone.  Must use computer

	Director  - Financial Aid   Job Description: Incumbent is
responsible for the University's student financial aid program. Plan,
organize and implement related procedures and activities. Counsel students
and parents. Compile necessary reports. Expected to work independently
within the policy and regulation framework of the financial aid programs for
which responsible. Coordinate activities with the Dean of Admissions,
University Controller, and University Registrar as needed.  Essential Job
Functions:  Identify possible sources of student financial aid. Prepare
necessary applications for funds acquisition.  Provide financial aid
information to students and parent. Counsel them regarding financial aid
assistance available and determine their eligibility for each program. .
Design printed information, forms and brochures for information
dissemination.  Responsible for staying abreast of policies and regulations
and enforce them in the administration of the financial aid programs.
Answer correspondence and prepare reports as needed.  Attend recruiting
trips with admissions and conduct high school financial aid nights.  Prepare
and administer department budget.  Engage in professional development
activities by attendance and participation in various financial aid
organizations at the state, regional and national level.  Serve on
University Committees as assigned.  Coordinate the utilization of campus
based and non-campus based financial aid programs.  Other duties as
assigned.  Minimum Education Requirement: Master's degree or a Bachelors
degree with five years of financial aid administrative experience.  Minimum
Work Experience: This position requires a minimum of five years in a
Financial Aid office or related field. Special Skills:  Excellent writing
skills.  Excellent oral communication skills.  Excellent problem solving
abilities.  General experience in accounting and bookkeeping.  Typing and
10-key experience.  Positive Human Relations skills.  Ability to comprehend
financial functions.  Management Experience and knowledge of management
