ACT is making Explore and Plan available to Oklahoma through the 2014-2015 year which is one year beyond its availability on the general market.

ACT Aspire will be taking the place of EPAS and will reach down through grade 3. http://www.discoveractaspire.org/pages/home

The State Regents have not made a decision as to what we will do beyond 2014-2015.

Hello Cindy:  I am sending this note to share the latest information on the Spring 2014 launch of ACT Aspire, especially the Early-Adopter program.  I have attached Early-Adopter pricing documents and information.  There are two options available.

Option 1:  Districts interested in testing at least one grade level (minimum of two subjects) with ACT Aspire in April of 2014, who are willing to administer two additional subject assessments as part of a Scaling Study will be eligible for discounted pricing at $11.70/student for computer-based testing or $18.70 for paper/pencil.   Pricing is for the complete battery (English, Math, Reading, Science, Writing) and the added Scaling Study assessments will be at no charge.   Participation in the study will lock-in discount pricing for a Fall or Spring administration of ACT Aspire in 2014-15.  To register for the study and qualify for discount pricing for 2 years (Spring 2014 plus Fall or Spring 2015) a district will need to complete, sign, and return the Early Adopter Registration form to me by December 31.

Option 2:  Districts interested in testing with ACT Aspire in Spring 2014 or Fall 2014, who are NOT interested in the scaling study can qualify for discount pricing for one year with a signed Registration form submitted by December 31.

Oklahoma WILL have EXPLORE and PLAN for 8th and 10th grades provided by the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education, through the school-year 2014-15.  However, that is an extension provided specifically for the state contract.  Schools who have been testing other grades with EXPLORE and PLAN are encouraged to consider ACT Aspire for students in grades other than 8th and 10th.

I will be the contact for any district with interest in ACT Aspire and am happy to answer questions about the assessments.  Please feel free to forward this email with attachments to any interested Oklahoma educator, along with my contact information below.

In the very near future I will also be sending information regarding ACT School-Day Testing for 2014-15.  Iowa City is finalizing timelines as we speak, with additional test dates added for the fall and spring.  Oklahoma educators responded in force to School-Day testing for 2013-14, with more districts participating than any other state.  Over 50 Oklahoma schools participated in the October 1, 2013 School-Day Pilot program, with 46 districts slated to test next spring.

Thank you for all you do through the Office of Student Preparation for Oklahoma students and Oklahoma schools!  Though I have been a user and fan of EXPLORE and PLAN for many years, I am excited about ACT Aspire and all the possibilities as this longitudinal system is extended down into the elementary grades.
