Subject: ACT Spring 2014 District Choice State Testing (DCST) : School Day ACT
I am sending this note to let you know that the deadline for schools to sign up for participation in the ACT Spring District Choice State Testing Program has been extended. The School/District Invitation letter and Information Sheet are attached, with highlighted notes added regarding RSVP and Eligibility deadlines.

DCST has been around for awhile, but in previous years has been offered to a limited number of schools and programs around the country. 2014-15 will be the first year the program will be available to districts and schools on a sign-up basis, and to individual schools within a district whether or not the entire district participates. The program is also being expanded to allow seniors to test. (In previous years only juniors were included.) Both public and private schools are eligible.

Students who test on a DCST date will receive an ACT score which is accepted in the same way as a National Test Date score. It is not a "practice" test. The intended purpose of DCST is to enhance access for all students, by allowing them to test at their own school on a school day. It is hoped that schools will test all juniors, and also include any seniors who might still need an ACT score in the spring. Students participating in DCST may still register for and take the ACT on the April National Test date.

More detailed information can be found in the attachments, and any school administrator or counselor with questions can contact me directly. Signing up is simple. Schools can indicate interest by following the link included in information sheet and providing basic information. The July 15 deadline has been extended, and completing the RSVP does NOT obligate a school in any way. The August 9 Eligibility (agreement) deadline, however, remains firm.

Please feel free to forward this email w/attachments to any Oklahoma educators who may be interested. I look forward to working again with your team, and to serving Oklahoma schools!
