Please see upcoming events/important information from the Student Preparation office.


  *   If you have a new counselor or DTC, please send the person’s email to me or Annette Long, lnelson at osrhe.edu<mailto:lnelson at osrhe.edu> or along at osrhe.edu<mailto:along at osrhe.edu>, so we can add to our Student Preparation list serv. Also, please let us know the name of the new DTC for your district.


  *   The Student Preparation Team will have a 1st year counselor zoom meeting next week, Wednesday, August 4.
First Year Counselor Desk Retreat, information to be covered will include PreACT, Concurrent enrollment, OKPromise, OKcollegestart, ICAP, FAFSA, important resources.

  *   Student Preparation Fall Workshops will be hosted in various regions throughout the state during the month of September. Register for a fall workshop near you.

  *   Student Preparation will be hosting overnight conferences again this year beginning in October.

  *   The Oklahoma State Regents will again fund the 10th grade PreACT for all public and private schools. The PreACT is free to ALL schools, even if you have chosen the SAT for your junior assessment.
The ordering window opens Monday, August 2. Do not order before that date please. We will send you the link to order in an email.
The testing window will be September 1 through November 19.


  *   ACT Fee Waivers
This is a reminder that you have to order your ACT fee waivers for your students who are eligible for fee waivers; information regarding eligibility requirements can be found here: https://act.org/content/dam/act/unsecured/documents/FeeWaiver.pdf  Juniors and Seniors can have up to 4 total ACT tests to use on a Saturday National testing day.
To order fee waivers, go to https://readiness.act.org, and click on ACT SUPPORT MATERIALS.
There are practice ACT test booklets(Preparing for the ACT) to order for your students; posters of the ACT college readiness standards for English, Reading and Writing (ELA) and posters for Math and Science (STEM); please order enough for your teachers.
Follow the prompts, there is no charge, it will zero balance, be sure and click PLACE ORDER. You will receive a confirmation page when your order is completed.
