Clarification:  For this request, please focus on the impact of the cuts
without any tuition increases or federal stimulus funds to offset the
cuts...i.e. the worst case scenarios and true impact of the loss of
state appropriations at the different levels.

We have received the following communication from the Senate staff
asking for information on potential revenue cuts for FY09, FY10 and
FY11.  See the attached spreadsheet for dollar amounts.

 

Obviously, the short turn out will not allow us to do a thorough
analysis, yet we are asking for your initial estimates and impacts on
your institution on the following scenarios with a due date of 4:00 pm
tomorrow, Tuesday, March 31st.  We will compile the data for the
Wednesday am meeting.

 

(A)  1% cut on total allocation for FY09

(B)  an additional 5% cut for FY10 from the above revised FY09 base

(C)  an additional 10% for FY10 from the above revised FY09 base

Note that the cut for FY09 is on total allocation not just General

I'm sure many of you have heard this already, but there will be a
subcommittee meeting this Wednesday at 9:30 am in room 419-C.  Please be
prepared to respond to these scenarios:

 

A 1% cut from total FY '09 appropriation

 

Assuming a flat budget from the 1% reduced FY '09 appropriation, how
will the agency be affected if it was cut by an additional 5% for FY '10
and '11? What if the cut was 10%?

 

A meeting notice should also be sent out soon.  Let Jeremy or me know if
