Subject:          Oklahoma's Promise Day at the State Capitol - April 14


Following up on the discussion at our Council of Presidents meeting on Wednesday, March 11 regarding Oklahoma's Promise Day at the State Capitol, I wanted to provide you additional details regarding the event.

Oklahoma's Promise Day is scheduled to be held at the State Capitol on Tuesday, April 14. The purpose of the event will be to provide an opportunity for students receiving the OKPromise scholarship to show support and appreciation for the program and to ask legislators to protect the dedicated funding source for the scholarship program.

As was discussed during our Council of Presidents meeting, we would like to utilize real stories from OKPromise students at our colleges and universities to incorporate into visual aids for the event. Please provide a paragraph from one Oklahoma's Promise student about his/her experience (what OKPromise means to the student, how it has changed the student's life, etc.) to Hollye Hunt at hhunt at osrhe.edu<mailto:hhunt at osrhe.edu> no later than Tuesday, March 24. Please limit the story to one paragraph so that we are able to highlight several stories throughout the day.

Below is a tentative agenda for Oklahoma's Promise Day at the State Capitol:

Tuesday, April 14

10:00 a.m.       Campus Check-In and Meet with Local Legislators (2nd floor rotunda)

12:00 p.m.       Lunch with Legislators (2nd floor rotunda)

1:00 p.m.         Rally (2nd floor rotunda)

In order to have an accurate headcount for the lunch, please provide the number of individuals from your institution who will be attending Oklahoma's Promise Day at the State Capitol to Hollye Hunt at hhunt at osrhe.edu<mailto:hhunt at osrhe.edu> by Wednesday, April 1.

Additional information, including the final agenda and talking points, will be provided as the date nears.

Finally, attached is an invitation that can be used when inviting students, parents, and staff to attend Oklahoma's Promise Day at the State Capitol on April 14.
