[Cobo] OMES Prompt-Payment Initiative -- COBO follow-up

As follow up to our conversation this morning regarding the OMES initiative on prompt-payment discounts and AP procedure changes, please find the notice below that has information on the upcoming webinar and also find attached a power-point presented to OFMA on the same topic provided by Terri Pinkston. In industry it is customary for vendors to offer early payment discounts. Some agencies may be taking advantage of these discounts on a sporadic basis, but there has been no statewide initiative to maximize savings from early payment discounts - until now.  CAR, Central Purchasing and Information Services are collaborating on an initiative to maximize early payment discounts. This initiative will result in some business practice changes that will affect all state agencies. Ensuring that each agency understands this initiative and has an opportunity to participate in the discussion is vital to its success.

OMES is offering three opportunities for interested agency personnel to learn about the plan, pose questions and voice concerns.  We recommend that each agency has someone attend one of the in-person sessions.  For those who cannot attend, a webinar is being provided for your convenience.

  *   Monday, Nov. 21, 2:30 p.m. - Concourse Theater - no registration necessary
  *   Tuesday, Nov. 29, 9:30 a.m. - Concourse Theater - no registration necessary
  *   Wednesday, Dec. 7, 1 p.m. - Webinar - Registration required

  2.  Complete the form and click submit.
  3.  Within a few minutes you will receive an email from "Louise Terry" confirming your enrollment.  In that email in the top left corner there will be a small calendar icon that says connect.  Double-click on the icon and it will open your calendar with an Outlook invitation.  Accept the invitation.
  4.  In the body of the Outlook appointment there will be a link with your name imbedded in it.  On December 7th, use this link to access the webinar.  Any other URL or links will not access this webinar.

NOTE:

To do a computer check before the day of the webinar go to  www.adobe.com/go/meeting_test.   When you get 4 green arrows you are good to go.
