Reminder to Send Alpha List Test Files

This is a reminder to all higher education institutions to submit an alpha list test file to validate the data will load correctly.  Through our past file testing, we found the following common items that should be addressed in your test files:

1)  Hours: For monthly employees, rather than reporting the 173 hours, you should be reporting the number of working hours in the month.  For example, December had 23 working days or 184 hours.  January has 21 working days or 168 hours.  You will need to report the correct number of hours in order for the FTE calculation to be correct.

2)  Gross Pay: Review guidelines on which earnings codes and object codes should be reported. NOTE: To ensure that you are correctly calculating gross pay, it would be a good idea to verify the gross pay for some of your employees based on what is currently being reported on the OpenBooks website.
