As you know, the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education's Regents Business Partnership Excellence Award highlights successful partnerships between higher education institutions and public, private and non-profit organizations. These partnerships further cultivate the higher learning environment through State Regents' Economic Development Grants. Participating institutions provide $500 in tuition waivers for employees of partner organizations, internships for current students and the business partner, faculty externships with the business partner, and/or for the enhancement of the partnership with additional equipment, materials, or supplies. The State Regents provide a matching $500 grant. These partnerships between business and industry and our state system institutions ensure that we continue building the skilled workforce needed for Oklahoma to be globally competitive.

Based on discussions with the Council of Presidents and in an effort to continue mitigating the spread of COVID-19, it was decided early this spring to celebrate the 2021 Regents Business Partnership Excellence Awards through a virtual showcase. Please join us in celebrating the 27 partnerships facilitated by our colleges and universities throughout the state. In lieu of an in-person ceremony, partnerships will be publicized through the State Regent's webpage, a program and press release. A physical plaque commemorating each partnership will be mailed to each institution.
