Hello COIL,
Don't forget about our Friday meeting (lunch @ 11:30 at The Mont, meeting @ 1) that will be held in the OU Bizzell Library. It's going to be fun!
I also want to share some exciting professional development opportunities if you're interested:
* Making Information Meaningful Conference<http://guides.library.tulsacc.edu/MIM2015>
This collaborative training opportunity will highlight best practices for developing information literacy skills in K-12 students, postsecondary students, and lifelong learners. In addition to practical ideas, attendees can network with others who share an interest and expertise in information literacy. The conference will be held at the Tulsa Tech Owasso Conference Center from October 22-23.
* Webinar on the new ACRL Framework<http://www.acrl.ala.org/acrlinsider/archives/10071>
This webinar does a wonderful job summarizing the new Framework and outlining where ACRL is at in this whole process. I'm personally very excited (And inspired!) by the new Framework. The unCOILed Conference this year (more info coming) will focus on the new Framework.
* edX MOOC: Design and Development of Games for Learning<https://www.edx.org/course/design-development-games-learning-mitx-11-127x#.VRLaovzF8a8>
This project-based course explores the process of designing and developing educational games, including issues associated with assessment, implementation and marketing. I've always been fascinated with gaming and learning so I've signed up for the free version of this class starting on April 1st. Would anybody else like to enroll? We can design a library game together that incorporates the new Framework!
Please feel free to share any interesting webinars/articles/proff dev opportunities/et cetera through this listserv.
Megan
