Hi folks,
Well, we have now entered the extreme heat zone. That's something to
look forward to, isn't it? I'm really hoping that after this week,
things will cool down some. (I'm really hoping to win the lottery too,
and I haven't even bought a ticket. What're the odds...?) Just
remember to stay out of the heat as much as you possibly can. In the
winter everyone clusters around the stove to keep warm; this time of
year we cluster around the air conditioner. And definitely remember to
keep water out and make some shade for your pets, or better yet, let
them in the house where you can enjoy their company. And water your
outside plants well. They can't stand much of this constant exposure
to the extreme heat, and they can't get up and go get in the shade either!
I neglected to mention yesterday that we were going to be serving meals
in the East Cafeteria, but I assume you all found your way just fine.
This is due to the fact that we're having the floor stripped and waxed
in the West Cafeteria so it will be all shiny and nice looking for the
beginning of the semester. It's amazing the difference those guys can
make on it. It's not their favorite thing to do, what with having to
move everything around and do multiple steps to get it to look good, but
they do a really good job on it.
For those of you that are interested, I believe our Storytelling Group
will be meeting at the Gallery this evening at 7:00. It's always nice
and cool in there with all the beautiful artwork to enjoy and lots of
interesting people to get acquainted with.
Our menu for today includes:
Meatloaf
Mashed potatoes and gravy
Corn
Broccoli cuts
Our fast food is Hot Ham and Cheese on a bun, with chips.
And for dessert we've got Rice Krispie Treats.
Come on over and keep cool with us.
