Hi folks,
I hope you're having a great day. The weather is supposed to be pretty
nice today, getting up into the low 70's or close to it I believe, and
no rain to run you indoors, or halt construction on our new building.
Have you looked over there lately? They've almost got the roof on!
Maybe then they'll be able to work even when it rains. If you're not at
the Wilburton campus and you want to check on the progress being made,
just go to our website and click on the Campus Video gold circle, scroll
down to Web Cam and click where it says Courtyard Web Cam. This will
show you a continually updated picture of the new building being born.
I actually saw a piece of the roof still hanging from the crane this
morning about to be put into place on the building. I haven't gotten
to see much of the actual construction, just seen what had been
completed as I'd drive by, but this was actually moving into place as I
watched.
Very Happy Birthday wishes go out today to our resident Postal
Worker/Radio Celebrity, Doug Sims, alias Dougo. That's right, he has
two day jobs he can't quit! He works here in our post office in the
mornings, then goes to radio station KTMC 105.1 in McAlester from 2:00
to 6:00. If things go right and we can get a college radio station
again, maybe we can get him back here full time.
Time is running out to sign up for the Active Shooter Class to be held
in the Ballroom this Saturday from 8:00 to 1:00. If you're interested
in obtaining some training in how to deal with these type emergency
situations, call Blaine Villines at Ext. 755 or Dana Lewis at Ext. 818.
(From off campus, these numbers would be 465-1755 and 465-1818.) Coffee
and donuts will be available in the morning and lunch will be provided
also to those attending the class.
Our menu for today includes:
Meatballs in beef gravy
Shrimp poppers
Corn
Rice
Potato casserole
Vegetable blend
French fries
Hot rolls
And for dessert try shaking things up with some Earthquake Cake.
Have a great day,
Rhoda :-)
