Hi folks,
Well, the weather man is threatening us with a freeze warning for
tonight! Can you believe it? It seems way too early to be worrying
about that sort of thing, but this weekend is the first of November
after all. I guess we should be ready. Be sure to bring in any tender
potted plants, and provide warm bedding for your outdoor pets, and don't
forget to undo the water hose. And if you don't have a garage, don't
forget the deicer and the windshield scraper. They're absolutely
essential when it gets frosty in the mornings! (Susie and I also took
it upon ourselves to go out front a few minutes ago and make sure the
hot chocolate machine was in good working order. You're welcome. Let
us know if we need to thump it again.) This weekend will also mark the
end of Daylight Savings Time, time to "Fall Back" or set your clocks
back an hour.
Of course, the best part of this week will be Thursday's Halloween
Carnival for campus and community. Don't forget to wear your scary,
cute or crazy costume that day to set the mood!
And I know all the students and faculty are busy getting ready for
Homecoming Week activities. All kinds of fun things are planned, along
with some more serious events marking Eastern's 100th year
anniversary. I guess my two favorites during Homecoming Week are the
comedy-hypnotist and the Mr. Eastern contest. They will both have you
rolling in the aisles!
Our menu for today includes:
Lasagna
Scalloped potatoes
Broccoli
Baby carrots
Corn
Green beans
Bread sticks
Hot ham and cheese on a bun
And for dessert have some Ice Cream and Toppings.
Have a great week,
Rhoda :-)
