LADY MOUNTAINEER SOFTBALL GAME SCORES FROM SUNDAY, FEB. 23, at Eastern 
vs. NE TEXAS:

First Game: Eastern 7  NE Texas 4. 
Eastern rallied from a early 4-0 deficit to score 7 runs in the last 
four innings. Kelsey Reding started the game in the circle and was 
replaced in the second inning by Rachel Filius, sophomore from Fairmont, 
West Virginia, who got her first win of the year. Karly Bitters got a 
save after replacing Reding who re-entered to drive in the go- ahead run 
in the bottom of the sixth.  Emily Gaulden, freshman from Ethel, 
Lousiana, went 3 for 4 in this game.
Second Game: Eastern 10  NE Texas 2   Run rule game in bottom of fifth 
(8 after 5 innings)
Karly Bitters pitched a complete game in this shortened run - rule 
game.  Sarah Hayslip's long home run over the center field fence 
provided the go ahead run in the second inning.  Several Lady 
Mountaineer players got key hits and made outstanding defensive plays in 
this game.
The Lady Mountaineers evened their season record at 5-5 with these two 
wins, playing a super tough juco schedule.
The Ladies travel to Mt. Pleasant for return games with NE TEXAS this 
Wednesday before traveling to Temple, Texas, late Thursday afternoon, to 
play in a  prestigious weekend  junior college tournament with ranked 
teams from all over the mid-west and southern states. 16 top junior 
college teams are entered.  Five of the teams are ranked in the top 10 
in the country in the NJCAA rankings.
