Hi folks,
 
It was a pretty fantastic weekend and looks like a fantastic week coming up!  We're getting into some fall weather now, with less heat during the day and cool evenings.  It's a great time of the year for outside activities, but watch out for a sunburn sneaking up on you!
 
Campus activities for the week include:  Battle of the Halls Flag Football at 6:30 on Tuesday, a dance in the Ballroom at 9:00 on Wednesday, Oct. 1, and the Theatre Dept. production of Barefoot in the Park begins Friday evening at 7:00 in Mitchell Auditorium, with another performance on Saturday, also at 7:00, and a final showing on Sunday at 2:00.  This production is free to all students, staff and faculty of Eastern, and costs only $5.00 for the general public.  
 
Also, the Aggie Club poker tournament is scheduled for Tuesday evening in the  President's Dining Room in the Student Center.  Aggie Club members should contact Mr. Eddie Woods for further information about this event.
 
Eastern birthdays for the week include:  Financial Aid Officer Sonya Steves on Tues. Sept. 30, and Gear Up's Dara Self on Wed. Oct. 1.  Be sure and wish these ladies a great day on their special day.
 
ECU & NSU recruiters are scheduled to be in the Student Center lobby area on Wed. to help soon-to-graduate students learn more about their respective institutions.  Come and talk with them if you are looking for the right place for you to further or finish your education.
 
Lunch menus for the week of Mon. Sept. 29 thru Fri. Oct. 3 include:
 
Monday:  Chicken fried chicken with mashed baby red potatoes and gravy,  hot rolls, roasted corn, rice pilaf, winter blend vegetables, fried okra, coconut cake.
 
Tuesday:  Beef tips with rice, dinner rolls, steamed carrots, Tuscan blend vegetables, fried okra, steamed squash, applesauce cake.
 
Wednesday:  Roasted turkey breast or ham, broccoli rice, stuffing, sweet potato casserole, green beans, corn on the cob, hot rolls, apple pie.
 
Thursday:  Tacos or nachos with all the trimmings on the side, red beans and cornbread, Spanish rice, green chili cheese corn, brownies.
 
Friday:  Fried catfish and shrimp with hush puppies, steamed cabbage, black eye peas, baked potatoes, macaroni and cheese, yellow cake with chocolate icing.
 
Dinner menus for the week include:
 
Monday:  Burritos with chili and cheese or corn dogs with fries or chips, macaroni and cheese, fried zucchini, steamed broccoli.
 
Tuesday:  Breakfast for dinner, with eggs, bacon or sausage, biscuits, gravy and pancakes.
 
Wednesday:  Pizza and pasta night, with garlic bread, mixed vegetables, broccoli, zucchini and tomatoes.
 
Thursday:  BBQ beef or grilled chicken sandwich, waffle fries or chips, BBQ beans, fried okra, steamed cauliflower with cheese.
 
Friday:  Hamburgers, fries, or chicken strip basket with fries or tots, pork and beans, potato salad.
