[Eoscstudents] 2019-20 FAFSA Availability

The 2019-20 FAFSA form(Free Application for Federal Student Aid) became
available for completion on October 1.  If you will be returning to Eastern
next year or moving on to another institution, now is the time to complete
your FAFSA.

You will need your 2017 income information (and parents' 2017 income
information if you are a dependent student) to complete your FAFSA.  The
application form is available online at www.fafsa.gov and it is free to
apply.

The 2019-20 online FAFSA is updated and mobile friendly.  A new app is now
available in the Apple App Store and Google Play, so you can download the
"myStudentAid"  app and complete the FAFSA application on your smartphone
or tablet.

You can choose to transfer income information directly from the IRS
website, which makes completion of the FAFSA easier and faster for
verification purposes.  If you do not choose to transfer from the IRS
website, you will need to request a tax transcript from IRS to be used for
verification purposes.  Copies of filed 1040 forms cannot be used for
verification, pursuant to federal guidelines.

Students, please complete your 2019-20 FAFSA as soon as possible!
