Welcome back, students! Eastern’s faculty and staff are looking forward to
a successful and healthy spring 2021 semester. As a reminder, please review
the information below regarding COVID-19 policies and protocols at Eastern.
We must all work together and do our part to protect the health and
wellbeing of Eastern’s students, faculty and staff.

*Face Coverings*

Eastern requires that all students, faculty, staff and visitors wear face
coverings on the Eastern Oklahoma State College Wilburton and McAlester
campuses. Eastern students attending classes at the Southeastern McCurtain
County Campus in Idabel and the Kiamichi Technology Center in Antlers are
required to follow the hosting institution’s policy.

*Where and when are face coverings required?*
Face coverings are required when:

   - Indoors when other people are present, including classrooms and other
learning environments, as well as common or public areas such as hallways,
stairways, lobbies, common areas of residence halls, restrooms, elevators,
   the Library, Bookstore and Cafeteria
   - Outdoors when keeping a six-foot distance from others may not be
   possible
   - In all college-provided transportation, unless the drive is alone in
   the vehicle

*Face coverings are not required when:*

   - Working or spending time alone in a personal workspace, office, or
   other area on campus
   - Working or spending time outdoors (walking, exercising, etc.) and at
least a six-foot distance from others can be maintained
   - Inside a personal, on-campus residence hall room or apartment
   - Eating or drinking – a six-foot physical distance between people is
required when eating and drinking in the Cafeteria

Failure to comply with face covering requirements may result in denial of
access to classrooms and other designated areas or participation in
programs and activities. Faculty have the right to deny a student entry
into the classroom if a student is not wearing a face covering. All
students have the opportunity to participate in classes via online courses
or Zoom web conference technology.

*Where do I get a face covering?*
Students, faculty, staff and visitors should plan to provide their own face
coverings (cloth or disposable masks). Disposable masks are available by
request in the Office of Student Services as needed.

*Feeling Sick or Exposure*

1. If you have symptoms consistent with COVID-19, stay home and isolate
yourself from family, friends and roommates as much as possible. If you
develop symptoms while in class or on campus, go home or return to your
residence hall room.

2. Complete the COVID-19 Self-Reporting Form <http://eosc.edu/covid>.
The Office of Student Services will contact you to provide further
guidance, testing or medical appointments and other resources.

COVID-19 Testing is recommended for individuals who:

   - Are experiencing even mild symptoms of COVID-19 infection;
   - Had close contact with a person who has COVID-19, such as being closer
than 6 feet for at least 15 minutes, living with or caring for someone with
COVID-19, or sharing utensils, kissing or being coughed or sneezed on by
the person. You should complete the COVID-19 Self-Reporting Form as soon as
you know that you’ve had a close contact. You’ll also need to self-isolate
right away and be tested 7 days after the suspected date of your exposure.

*COVID-19 Self-Reporting Form*

To ensure that Eastern can provide support and resources to students,
faculty and staff who have been potentially exposed to or test positive for
COVID-19, we request that individuals complete the online Self-ReportingForm
<http://eosc.edu/covid>.
