Yesterday, the CDC announced changes to its COVID-19 guidance, moving away
from restrictive measures such as quarantine and social distancing. The CDC
noted the changes were made because nearly the entire US population has at
least some immunity through vaccination, previous infection or, in some
cases, both. Eastern will continue to follow CDC guidelines for the
college’s protocols.

   - The biggest change is that quarantine will no longer be required for
students and employees who have been exposed to COVID-19, regardless of
   vaccination status.
   - Since the college will no longer conduct contact tracing for
exposures, faculty are not required to maintain seating charts.
   - Students and employees who test positive will still be required to
isolate for at least 5 days and wear a mask through day 10.
   - Students and employees who are sick, awaiting test results or who have
received positive test results still need to complete the self-reporting
   form at esoc.edu/covid.

Thank you,
Trish
