[Eoscstudents] Eastern Closed--Thursday, January 29, 2026

After careful review of road conditions—including both main highways and
county/side roads—and with safety as our top priority, *Eastern Oklahoma
State College will close the Wilburton and McAlester campuses on Thursday,
January 29, 2026*, out of an abundance of caution.

All classes at the *Antlers, Idabel, McAlester, and Wilburton campuses* are
*cancelled* for *Thursday, January 29, 2026*.

Because road conditions may remain unsafe, please continue to monitor
your *Eastern
email*, *Eastern’s website*, and *Eastern’s social media channels* for
updates regarding the College’s schedule for *Friday, January 30, 2026*.

No exams via online coursework are expected during this closure. Assignment
deadlines will be adjusted when we return to in-person, on-campus classes.
Employees who are able will continue to respond to student questions via
email or in Blackboard.

Keeping students, faculty, and staff is the first priority.  Please use
your best judgment based on your individual circumstances.

Thank you for your patience. Additional information regarding Friday’s
plans will be shared tomorrow.
