FYI;

Distance Learning once meant "Geography Distance". Today, it can mean "Real Time" Distance. Today, Higher Ed Net workers who support students and faculty with transport, storage and service of educational systems are indeed "Distance Learning Professionals".

If you take care of these kind of systems on a Higher Ed facility, please consider joining the ODLA. We need your input, and it's really cheap.

12:35-1:15:  Keynote - Dr. Jason Cole from Denver, CO - Jason Cole, Ph.D. is currently Chief Learning Officer at Remote Learner (http://remote-learner.net <http://remote-learner.net/> ). Dr. Cole has had extensive experience in instructional systems design and implementation of large scale educational technology projects. He was tapped by Open University UK in 2005 to assist OU with its transition from their homegrown learning management system to Moodle. Over the ensuing 2 years he successfully architected a system that currently supports over 225,000 student users worldwide with multiple enrollments. OU-UK is the largest online school known to exist. Jason is the co-author of Using Moodle (c2006 & 2007) published by O'Reilly Community Press, and has been the organizer of several successful MoodleMoot Conferences in the US and UK.

1:30-3:00:  The ODLA Knowledge Café - What's of interest to you?  Let's have a discussion.  Submit any questions or topics to lisa.cole at tulsatech.org <mailto:lisa.cole at tulsatech.org>  

Facilitator will introduce topics for discussion.  Participants may break-off into smaller groups for informal discussions.  Participants will then regroup and the facilitator will lead the group through the final session, in which people reflect on the small group discussions and share any thoughts, insights and ideas on the topics which may have emerged.  No presentations needed for ODLA Knowledge Cafés.
