COURSE OVERVIEW
This two-day course focuses on Service Asset & Configuration Management - one of the most necessary but difficult processes to implement if you want to achieve a high level of maturity in IT Service Management (ITSM). And, the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) provides a critical resource for almost all other ITSM disciplines. If implemented and managed correctly, the CMDB will provide valuable information about where assets are and how they impact the delivery and quality of IT services. However, there are many obstacles to negotiate and pitfalls to avoid, so good guidance is essential before you attempt this most important project.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
* Learn how to create a CMDB from Pink Elephant's consulting team - "the ITIL Experts"
* Learn the critical success factors for defining, building, deploying and managing a best practice CMDB
* Receive numerous take-aways including:
* A useful "data model" template and example
* RACI matrix showing roles and responsibilities
* Job descriptions to support the RACI matrix
* Example project plan for creating a CMDB
* Checklist of mandatory and desirable criteria to help select the most appropriate tools to support your CMDB
CMDB Design Considerations:
