On Jan. 26, 2012, the Department of Health and Human Services published the 2012 poverty guidelines in the Federal Register <https://www.federalregister.gov/articles/2012/01/26/2012-1603/annual-update-of-the-hhs-poverty-guidelines?utm_campaign=subscription+mailing+list&utm_medium=email&utm_source=federalregister.gov> .

 

The new guidelines should be used when evaluating borrowers for reduced payment plans such as economic hardship and income-based repayment.
