Lenders can be Granted Access to Spouse's Information in NSLDS to
Determine IBR Eligibility 

On Jan. 4, 2012, ED announced in the NSLDS Technical Update LLS-2012-01
<http://www.ifap.ed.gov/nsldsmaterials/LLS201201TechUpdate.html>  that
if a lender or lender's servicer needs access to a borrower's spouse's
loan information to determine Income Based Repayment (IBR) eligibility
and payment amounts, the borrower's spouse can grant that access to the
lender or lender's servicer for 60 days.
