Happy Friday! Here is an overview of Livable Communities resources that are available through AARP. Joy McGill will be on the Director's Zoom Call on Friday, October 23rd.

About AARP Livable Communities: AARP Livable Communities supports the efforts of neighborhoods, towns, cities and rural areas to be great places for people of all ages. We believe that communities should provide safe, walkable streets; age-friendly housing and transportation options; access to needed services; and opportunities for residents of all ages to participate in community life. In addition to the national AARP Livable Communities team, AARP Oklahoma has a state office presence and local staff to help support the needs of Oklahoma residents and communities.

A call is hosted each month to foster information-sharing exchanges among and across rural communities working on similar issues. Thematic areas will be driven by participants, but may include housing, transportation, extreme weather/disasters, high-speed internet, and economic development, to name a few. I'm happy to share contact information of any of your colleagues to receive an invitation to this monthly event.
