HISTORIC PRESERVATION WEEK IN OKC AND STATEWIDE PRESERVATION CONFERENCE
DATES:
June 7-9, 2017
Location:
Civic Center Music Hall (Municipal Auditorium)
201 North Walker Avenue
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
To focus attention on the importance of the conference and on historic preservation's role in Oklahoma City's renaissance, Mayor Mick Cornett has proclaimed June 5-9 as Oklahoma City's first Historic Preservation Week. Preservation efforts in Oklahoma City are picking up steam as the City's Planning Department develops preserveokc, the City's first historic preservation plan. Preserveokc will identify goals and policies to enhance historic preservation efforts throughout Oklahoma City, building on a nearly 50-year legacy of historic preservation activity. These efforts will be featured in one of the concurrent sessions and in the opening plenary session on Wednesday afternoon, June 7.
Although online registration is now closed, register at the door for $75.00. View the complete program brochure at http://www.okhistory.org/shpo/conference.htm. On-site registration opens at 12:00noon on June 7 in the Civic Center Music Hall Atrium Lobby.
Continuing education credits are available for design professionals, planners, engineers, and land surveyors who attend the conference. Design professionals will earn HSW hours needed to fulfill requirements of the State of Oklahoma's Board of Governors of Licensed Architects, Landscape Architects, and Interior Designers. Planners will earn AICP (American Institute of Certified Planners) Certification Maintenance credits, and engineers and land surveyors will earn Oklahoma State Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors professional development hours. Details are found in the conference registration brochure.
