[MainstreetTowns] Important Notice to Federal Rehabilitation Tax Credit Project Applicants - TPS/NPS Office Move

Dear Colleagues:

The Technical Preservation Services (TPS) division of the National Park Service (NPS) reviews and approves Historic Preservation Certification Applications, Parts 1, 2, and 3. required for projects to qualify for the federal rehabilitation tax incentives. They are moving their office in April 2017. TPS has asked the SHPOs to help make the move as smooth as possible, and, therefore, we will transmit no HPCAs to them during the period April 3-11, 2017.

As a result of the move, applicants should expect delays in the billing and input of applications as well as any mail-outs of review decisions during this period.  Project review times will likely extend up to 45-60 days for the next few months.  The schedule for packing, moving, and unpacking is below:

March 13- April 2, 2017:  packing and boxing project files
March 31, 2017:  last day for TPS to receive mail at current address
April 3-11, 2017:  TPS offices closed for moving
April 12-21, 2017:  unpacking and unboxing project files
April 12, 2017:  first day for TPS to receive mail at new address
April 21-July 1, 2017:  delays in project billing, inputs, and review decisions
