[MainstreetTowns] Event Cancellations / Rescheduling?

I defer to the City’s Public Safety team, since they are the ones who approve the special event permit. If they collectively decide that it is unsafe for the general public, then we cancel.
We too, try to have plenty of participation in stores, etc. For our event next week, I have an indoor option for a couple of the features, just in case. (Santa visits, make-n-take crafts, etc.)

We don’t really have a policy in Claremore either. Personally, I hate rescheduling/canceling events – because it’s a hassle/sometimes impossible and because in Oklahoma you never know what is actually going to happen -- so I don’t unless the weather is almost certainly dangerous (high risk of tornado, ice, etc.). If it is simply undesirable, we keep it going and hope for the best. But there’s also usually stores open or other places for people to go indoors if a downpour starts or something.
The Claremore Christmas Parade (Chamber event) advertises a weather delay day from the beginning to participants and makes the decision the morning of. With inclement weather expected Friday, they have already started making sure the protocols are in place in case they have to call it.

Just curious, what is your Main Street's policy on cancelling/rescheduling events? NMS has taken fire in the past for not rescheduling in the past due to rainy weather and this weekend's possible weather outlook has me really concerned as we have a children's event scheduled. I personally feel that safety comes first but a few volunteers are saying "the show must go on."
Thank you,
