We do not ask a question about felony convictions on our application. Registered sex-offenders and some others are required to register with campus police.

Hello all in OACRAO land,

We have a question concerning applicants who have been convicted of a felony.  On our application we ask that they provide a written statement which is sent to the Dean of Students where he runs a background check and possibly calls the applicant in for an interview.  He would like to be step up this process so here are my questions.


1.        Do you have a form required by students with felony convictions to complete prior to an admission decision being made?

2.       If yes, is it only for this group of students or do you use it for other convictions such as misdemeanors?



3.       Do you charge the student to have a background check run?

4.       If yes, how much?

5.       Would you be willing to share your form with us?  If so, please email to bapplemn at ecok.edu<mailto:bapplemn at ecok.edu>.



6.       Do you have varying degrees of admissions?  For example, they can be admitted but not live in campus housing.

7.       If admitted, do you put any stipulations on any of the students?  For example, report to the Dean of Students monthly.
