[Oacrao-l] Important Updates for the OACRAO Spring Policy Workshop

All,

We are currently monitoring the forecast for next week's workshop and there appears to be a chance of winter weather on both Thursday and Friday. I have consulted with the OACRAO Executive Committee and we have come up with the following plans should the OCCC campus close or a significant number of our members be able to travel to, and return home from, the workshop safely.

NOTE: As of now the workshop is still scheduled for Friday, Feb. 27th.
We will continue to monitor the weather forecast and will make final determinations by 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25th at the latest.

OACRAO Spring Policy Workshop Inclement Weather Plans

Plan A: Hybrid Conference
If OCCC remains open, winter weather only affects part of the state, and a significant number of the attendees can travel safely to OCCC, the workshop will go on as scheduled but will be simulcast in a webinar format. Attendees who cannot travel safely to the site may attend the webinar and will receive a $25.00 discount on registration and will be able to watch the sessions and ask questions via chat. Attendees who do not wish to attend or participate in the web simulcast will receive a full refund according to OACRAO's Refund Policy.

Plan B: Alternate Conference Date
If the OCCC campus closes, or if the OCCC campus remains open, but travel is too hazardous for a significant number of the attendees, the workshop will be rescheduled for Friday, April 3 2015 at OCCC. We will change the registration dates and offer a full refund to those attendees who do not wish to attend the rescheduled workshop. (We are aware that this date is Good Friday, but we will offer dietary options).

The safety of our membership and guests is our first concern. We sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding. If you have any questions or concerns please let me know.
