When we could find students we did use them.  And they had access to all files here with the exception of our student software; like your office, there was a confidentiality agreement they were required to sign.  I am sure you will find work studies in your Financial Aid office as well, and they are dealing with material every bit as sensitive as you would find in a Registrar's Office.  I see no reason for you not to be able to use them.

Good morning,

Do any of you utilize federal work study students in the Registrar's Office? I have had them sign confidentiality agreements and used them a great deal at other institutions, but have recently been told that due to the confidential peer information in the Registrar's Office, we would not be able to use them for any tasks where they could have access to other students' records.

What is your policy?
