Good morning colleagues!

I am gathering info for our Commencement Committee. If you have a minute, could you answer a couple of questions? Please answer with how you handled things prior to COVID. 😊


  1.  Do you have more than one ceremony each year?  We only have one ceremony.  It is held at the end of the spring semester.  This year, due to COVID, we will divide the graduates into 2 morning offerings in Tonkawa and 2 afternoon offerings in Enid (non-COVID, we offer 1 morning in Tonkawa and 1 afternoon in Enid)
  2.  If you have only one ceremony, do your fall graduates participate in the ceremony before or the ceremony after their intended graduation?  We invite of prior fall, our spring, and our following summer graduates to participate.
  3.  Do you have a credit hour requirement or any other requirement that must be met for a summer or fall graduate to participate in the spring ceremony prior to their intended graduation?  We do not have a credit hour requirement only that applications be submitted.  For future grads, we review the application to see that the student will have potentially completed 60 hours within the scope of the application date.
  4.  Do you have any students perform musical pieces or any other student performances as part of your commencement ceremony?  Our music department provides the entry & exit march, a “special” piece, a salute to the armed forces, a musical version of the Pledge of Allegiance, and the Alma Mater.
