[Oacrao-l] Practices on Designating Honors Courses

Hi John,

ORU has Honors courses also. We create each honors version of a course with a new course number in SCACRSE in Banner. For example, a Composition 1 course normally would be “COMP 101”, but a Composition I Honors course would be “COMP 101H”. This allows the courses to reflect on the transcript.

Hello OACRAO,

Recently CSC has begun offering special designation for those meeting specific criteria in a course, an option to have an honors designation for the course on their academic record. I have been asked by my VPAA to reach out to my colleagues to see if/how honors courses are designated on other institutions academic records.

Additionally, CSC is a Banner school, so anything specific to this system could be of particular intrest.
