OACARO Colleagues,

We have received an inquiry regarding an institution "requiring" an out-of-state student to agree that they would remain classified as out-of-state for the duration of enrollment, regardless of any change in circumstance.  This appears to conflict with 70 O.S. §3218.2 and Regents Policy 3.18(F), which provides that an out-of-state student who marries an Oklahoma resident may be considered in-state after documentation of marriage and domicile, without the 12-month waiting period.

Can you let me know if having students sign such an affidavit is practice at your institution?
