[Oasfaa] Department of Ed Calls

There is no way to identify anyone from the Department of Education that telephones  and requests student information; so I would not give it.  If someone from the Department of Education requests information it should come through the SAIG or official letter from the Department.  Look, you have to identify a parent in the same way even when a student allows them access.

There are so many ways to spoof a Fax that I won't accept requests made through a FAX either.

FERPA is pretty stringent and the penalties are severe.  Positive identification is necessary.
